TELEVISA has launched a strategic project to expand its telecommunications infrastructure in the city of Vilankulo, Inhambane Province.
The project, called "Conectivity for the Future", consists of the installation of 200 km of state-of-the-art fiber optics, with capacity to support high-speed internet services, interactive digital television and dedicated business solutions.
Among the main objectives are:
- Increase residential internet coverage in Vilankulo and surroundings by 60%;
- Provide specialized support for local hotels and resorts, promoting digital tourism;
- Integrate public schools and institutions into a high capacity network for educational and administrative purposes;
- Prepare the region for 5G technology implementation in the coming years.
The beginning of the works is scheduled for September 2025, with an estimated conclusion in March 2026. During this period, 50 temporary jobs will be created for local technicians and engineers, reaffirming TELEVISA's commitment to Mozambique's socioeconomic development.
